Echuca has a large shopping centre for a town of its size. Echuca and Moama service a population in the vicinity of 50000 (this included surrounding areas and tourists). Consequently there is a choice of supermarkets providing goods at similar prices to Melbourne. The modern shopping centre based on Hare Street and Pakenham Street provides the regular needs for the locals. High Street shopping area with its elegant and historic buildings has a range of interesting specialist shops, restaurants, and hotels. The closest shops with a range of bait and fishing gear are in High Street within walking distance Rich River Houseboat Moorings.
To get to High Street from our moorings go through the car parking area and past the Bridge Hotel toward the Shamrock Hotel.
To get to Hare and Packenham Streets turn between the Bridge Hotel and The Red Gum Works and continue through the Historic Port Area, past the American Hotel along Hare Street.
You can also arrange to be picked up to go to the clubs from the Mary Ann Mooring upstream of our mooring.
If you need your car please call us to take you to the Car Compound.

Within walking distance from the River bank, park upstream of the Moama Wharf and walk along the track to the board walk that leads to Moama. Moama shopping centre includes a supermarket, Hotels, a newsagents and restaurants. The Moama Bowling Club is easily accessed from here.
Please do not tie up to the Wharf or park downstream of the wharf and leave room upstream for the paddleboats to tie to the wharf.

(Location 1750 NSW side) Go upstream past the sandbar with Morning Glory sign , past the boat ramp by about 300 mitres and select a spot along this stretch of river.

The best spot to stop is on the outside of the bend near the willow trees upstream of the long steel landing. Walk up over the road to the township.
DO NOT GO UNDER OR PAST THE BRIDGE IN THE HOUSEBOAT
The town has a general store, service station, hotel, as well as tourist information, an Art Gallery and aboriginal cultural centre. Supplies available include groceries, milk, bread, confectionary, block & crushed ice, newspapers & magazines, beer wine & spirits, fuel and outboard oil, bait, fishing tackle, post box, public telephone and stamps. Counter meals are available at the pub at THE WEEKENDS ONLY.
If you wish to join a cruise through the Barmah Lakes with a commentary this may be arranged with King Fisher Wetland Cruises by phoning Kingfisher Cruises on 5480 1839.

Kiosk, milk, bread, limited groceries, fuel. The kiosk is located in the middle of the caravan park a fair walk from the river. Fuel is located near the boat ramp.

This is pick up point D for the courtesy buses to take you to the clubs. Park the boat upstream of the motel and the gully that runs into the river. The general store is along the road to the golf club about 1.5 Kilometres from the river. The Golf club is about 2 kilometres from the river.
